Chalk to Cheese
Chalk to Cheese, acrylic on wood, polymer clay, plaster, marker on vellum, Slinky, 2016
Chalk to Cheese, is a 16-foot long platform of replicas of household objects, made of painted wood, polymer clay, plaster and various other materials. The objects are arranged so that one connects to the next through a chain-of-associations. The connections reveal an alternate logic and visual lexicon that may extend through shared formal properties such as shape and colour, typological groupings or a play on language. The viewer can follow my circuitous path of connections or draw their own set of criteria for navigating the chain.
